Shocking: Lyricist Na Muthukumar Dead

Reputed Tamil lyricist Na Muthukumar, a national award winning legend died this morning at his residence due to high fever following a severe Jaundice attack. He was only 41.

He has fetched national awards for two songs of his songs 'Aanandha Yazhai meetugiraai' and 'Azhage Azhage' in the recent times.

In the early days, Na Muthukumar had worked for four years under director Balu Mahendra in the hopes of becoming director but then turned into Lyricist with the movie "Veera Nadai" directed by Seeman.

He also made his debut in dialogue writing with "Kireedam" and is also a poet, columnist, and novelist. Some of his famous literary works include Silk City, Newton-in-Moondram Vidhi, Ennai Sandhikka Kanavil Varathe and few more.

He has written more than 1000 songs and holds a record of writing 103 songs in the year 2012! He has written more than 200 songs for GV Prakash Kumar itself.

The sudden death of this lyricist is a big shock to the Kollywood community. Kollywood celebrities were saddened by this shock and took Twitter to pay their tributes.

The final rites of Na Muthuumar will be starting today at 6PM today from his residence and to be cremated at the New Avadi road, Velankadu burial ground, Anna Nagar.

May his rest in piece and shall see many such lyricists like Na Muthukumar in the youngsters.
