Dhanush-Vetri Maaran's "Visaranai" Wins International Award

Director Vetri Maaran's Visaranai which was previously selected for the 72nd International Film Festival of Venice, finally wins an award under the prestigious Amnesty International Italy's "Cinema for Human Rights".

Right from the movie Kaaka Muttai, Dhanush is very choosy in investing money of movies, and it is now Visaranai which once again proves it!

Visaranai is a 60-mins thriller movie which has the story based on a book written by an auto-driver, Chandrakumar. The books portrays the author's real-life experience and his terrible days when he was arrested by an Andhra police when he was 17 years old. The movie portrays the story and the lead role is played by Dinesh of Attakathi fame.

Riccardo Noury, the spokesperson of Amnesty International Italy stated “Many other films in competition had not dealt the various aspects of human rights with sensitivity and originality. But Visaranai taken from the experience of a survivor, now an activist on Human rights, prevailed over the others.”

The camera man of Visaranai, Rama Lingam was also appreciated for very well showcasing the unspoken emotions in the movie.

We wish, the movie should get the same respect at its home when it hits the screen!! Keep watching this tab for more latest tamil cinema news!!
